“In a travel advertisement from 1905, Kolåsen was described as one of Sweden’s most beautiful places. It’s hard not to agree, especially on a day like this when the fresh snow has painted the landscape white and the sun glistens in Lake Äcklingen. … The magnificent landscape is one of the reasons why the couple has remained in the small village at the end of the road, roughly eight miles north of Järpen, for almost 20 years.” In the magazine Land, you can read about how Kolåsens Fjällhotell became a successful acquisition and was transformed into what it is today – with its cultivation, animal husbandry, and familial atmosphere. In this four-page report, Anna and Micke discuss falling in love with this unique place and how they have developed the hotel in Kolåsen over the past 20 years. Land Nr.2 2023
