Summit touring

Regardless of whether you enjoy skiing, hiking, or paddling, Skäckerfjällen is well worth a visit. This is especially true if you appreciate silence, tranquility, and an exclusive sense of solitude and wilderness.

Alpine touring or Randonee, is a growing trend that attracts more and more people to the mountains. Skäckerfjällen’s somewhat remote location and the need to hike a certain distance from the nearest car stop means that visitors are often alone when enjoying this wonderful nature reserve. To make the journey easier, we offer guests the option of using our “Mountain Express” service for the first six kilometers.

We also work with local guide companies to ensure that visitors are safe and well-informed about the best routes. If you’re interested in taking a course or tour this year, please contact them directly for more information or to register. See the link below.

Ski Touring Weekend in Skäckerfjällen

The Skäckerfjällen Nature Reserve boasts three areas with primeval forest. The highest peak, Sandfjället, stands at 1230 meters above sea level and offers a high mountain feel throughout the area. The reserve has a marked trail, known as the Sockertoppsleden, that runs through it and is suitable for both winter and summer activities. The trail is approximately 32 km long. However, it is recommended to avoid skiing in May when the reindeer have their calves, as the animals graze throughout the area.
